Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month – March 2024

March 2024 is Cerebral Palsy awareness month and we thought it a good opportunity to highlight some of our fabulous Cerebral Palsy members starting with Jonathan Stokes.

Jonathan started bowling in 2011. Before this he had been a keen footballer and helped run a local team.

He joined DBE (Disabled Bowls England) in 2016 and has been successful in numerous competitions representing both his club and county.

He is also a member of the DBE high performance squad.  He says that although Cerebral Palsy affects his balance, he has adapted his delivery to compensate.

Jonathan loves the game and the friends he has made, but especially the competitions he plays in.

Cerebral palsy awareness month offers opportunity to shine a spotlight on a lifelong condition that impacts people in a variety of ways. This link will take you to the Cerebral Palsy Research Network where there is a plethora of relevant information
